Gambling is often described as a hidden harm and many people experience stigma when trying to talk to others about their gambling. All services listed here are FREE for GM residents and accept self-referrals or referrals from professionals such as your GP.

If you would like to learn more about specialist support available to individuals living with gambling disorder, please contact the Northern Gambling Service or Beacon Counselling Trust.

Blocking and self-exclusion tools:

The first step to stopping gambling often involved using blocking tools, such as GAMSTOP and Gamban. Once you are registered, these tools will automatically self-exclude you from all UK-licensed online bookmakers. Many banks will also give you the option to block all gambling transactions. If you are looking to exclude from land-based or high street gambling venues, we recommend MOSES (multi-operator self-exclusion scheme).
