We are Against the Odds

We believe now is the time to remove gambling sponsorship and marketing from sport. Will this affect clubs financially? Maybe. But this is a small price to pay to help protect sports fans from harm.

It is estimated that 0.7% of the population or around 18,100 adults in Greater Manchester are experiencing severe gambling harms. That’s more people than you can squeeze inside Boundary Park – the home of Oldham Athletic.

A further 4.3% of the population are at low or moderate risk. This equates to over 97,400 adults in Greater Manchester – more than the combined capacity of Manchester City’s Etihad stadium (55,097), Old Trafford Cricket Ground (26,000) and Sale Sharks’ AJ Bell Stadium (12,000).
